Business coaching in Manchester

Business coaching for Manchester owners.

In person from Salford or by video across the North West — coaching for owners whose business has grown faster than the structure holding it up.

Coaching in Manchester

What does business coaching in Manchester look like?

One-to-one work, fortnightly, ninety minutes at a time — in person by appointment in Salford or by video from wherever your week actually is. We coach across four areas — personal, leadership, business and financial — using one method: Performance on Purpose.

01

Headcount grows faster than margin.

Manchester businesses scale by hiring. An agency, a studio, a consultancy or a fast-growing service firm adds people to take on more work and assumes the profit line follows. Often it does not. The first piece of work is usually finding out what each client, job and person is really worth.

02

You are still the best seller and the best deliverer.

In a people business the owner is billable, which makes the trap harder to see: every hour spent running the business is an hour off an invoice. Coaching goes at that directly — what only you can do, what you have simply never handed over, and what actually happens to quality when you do.

03

Your team can change employer without changing tram stop.

The density of this city is an advantage when you are hiring and a risk when you stop paying attention. Keeping good people takes clear expectations, honest progression and managers who can genuinely manage — none of which is a perk, and all of which can be learned.

None of that changes what coaching is. It changes where we point it first: at the numbers behind your growth, at what leaves your desk, and at the management layer you probably need in place before the next ten people arrive rather than after. The pattern underneath is the one we see everywhere — the owner is the constraint — but in a market moving this quickly, leaving it alone gets expensive fast.

In person or online

Where do sessions happen?

Our North West base is in Salford, M5, and the address is shared when you book rather than published. In-person sessions run there by appointment. Many Greater Manchester clients use video for most sessions for a practical reason: a protected fortnightly slot survives a busy quarter, and a cross-city round trip frequently does not.

The pattern that works well: if you are close, meet in person for the first two diagnostic sessions — where we map the business and build the working relationship — then move to video once the rhythm is set. The fee is the same either way, and you work with one coach throughout rather than being handed to an associate. Everything starts with a free thirty-minute discovery call. The method

Performance on Purpose, in short.

One method, two questions asked at the same time: are you performing — and is the performance serving a purpose worth the effort it costs? It runs at four levels: you, your leadership, your business and your finances. Answered honestly, those two questions place you on a simple quadrant. Drifting is low on both. The Treadmill is a business that performs while the reason for it has quietly gone. Unfulfilled Potential is a purpose you believe in and delivery that never catches up. Performance on Purpose is both together, and that is the target.

Every session re-scores where you are, so progress is measured rather than remembered fondly, and the destination is the three freedoms: financial, time and mind. Explore Performance on Purpose, or see how coaching works from the first call onwards.

Four areas

Coaching across four areas of your business life.

01

Personal Coaching

How you think, decide and lead yourself. Growth is loud in this city and it is easy to mistake being busy for getting somewhere — this is the work on clarity, energy and the decisions you keep putting off.

02

Leadership Coaching

Delegation, accountability and getting results through others — the management layer a scaling Manchester business needs before the next ten hires, not two years after them.

03

Business Coaching

Strategy, pricing, profit and systems — knowing what each client, job and person is genuinely worth, so growth adds margin instead of just adding headcount.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to come to the Salford office?

No, and most Manchester clients do not. The M5 base is there for owners who think better across a table, and the address goes out when you book rather than sitting on the website. The honest test is whether a cross-city round trip survives a bad month. A ninety-minute video session at eight in the morning is easy to protect; a two-hour excursion at eleven is the first thing to go the moment a client escalates. Coaching fails on cancelled sessions more often than on anything else. Plenty of people meet in person for the two diagnostic sessions and then move online once the rhythm is set. The fee is identical either way.

How does coaching work for an agency or a people business?

Where the product is people's time, the numbers behave differently and most owners are running on instinct about them. We start by making three things visible: what each client is genuinely worth once you count the hours actually spent on them, how much of the team's capacity is sold rather than assumed, and how much of your own week is billable rather than spent running the place. Those three usually explain the profit problem on their own. After that it becomes a leadership question — whether work can go to someone who is not you without the quality dropping, and what has to be true for that to happen. Pricing, scope creep and the client conversations you have been avoiding follow from there.

Do you work with businesses outside Manchester?

Yes, across the North West and UK-wide, and there are bases in London, Northern Ireland and Pretoria as well. Nothing about the coaching changes with a postcode: the same fortnightly rhythm, the same ninety-minute sessions, the same review at ninety days against measures you set in the first month. Location only affects travel, which is the sole reason it comes up. If you are in Leeds, Liverpool or Preston and want to meet occasionally, that works well. If you are further out it will be video, and neither of us should pretend a quarterly drive would add much. Being outside Manchester has never been the reason an engagement did not work. Not protecting the diary has.

What does business coaching cost in Manchester?

You get a specific figure on the free thirty-minute discovery call, before committing to anything. It is not published because the engagements are not equivalent — fortnightly ninety-minute one-to-one coaching and a lighter monthly accountability rhythm would both be mispriced by a single headline number. Two straight points. This is not the cheapest coaching in Manchester; there are group programmes running at a fraction of it, and for some owners those are the right purchase. And if the fee would be genuinely tight for the business as it stands, say so on the call. Being told to fix the cash position first and come back next quarter is a real answer here, not a negotiating move.
